A message from the RSVP Director, Joan S. Hansen

Dear Volunteer,

“I don’t know what your destiny will be, but one thing I do know: The only ones among you who will really be happy are those who have sought and found how to serve.” Albert Schweitzer

This quote epitomizes, to me, the benefits of being a member of RSVP.

I’ve found in my 30 years as Director of RSVP that the seniors who have been involved in volunteer service have been among the happiest I’ve known.

And that’s our basic mission – to help people 55 and older get involved in our community and put their skills and experience to work in the service of others.

“Everyone can be great, because everyone can serve.” Martin Luther King, Jr.

There’s something for you at RSVP. You don’t need any special educational, economic or other qualifications. Our staff is dedicated to finding just the right place where you can make your greatest contribution. You’re a unique person, with your own skills, talents and personality. Let us help you put them to good use helping our community.

“I shall pass through this world but once. Any good, therefore, that I can do or any kindness that I can show to any human being, let me do it now. Let me not defer or neglect it, for I shall not pass this way again.” Mahatma Gandhi

Don’t fall victim to the negative – the anxiety, the disquiet, the isolation that characterizes so much of our world today. Get out make a difference. Through RSVP, you’ll learn new things, meet new people, get a new lease on life – and be part of the solution. It’s a great feeling!

Voluntarily yours,

joan S. Hansen
